Ken Livingstone's long-term feud with the Evening Standard reached a new nadir almost two years ago. The mayor was allegedly recorded comparing (Jewish) reporter Oliver Finegold to a Nazi concentration camp guard and then subsequently refused to apologise. This incendiary incident forms the basis for Mea Culpa, an unusual, site-specific project by Zimbabwe-born Ryan Ras. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, Ras has invited a range of artists to create narratives (written, aural or visual) on the subject. Ras' own conceptual written work The Incomplete History of Public Apology: 1900-2005 explores how our inclination to take responsibility and admit error has changed over the last century.
