Thanks to the invention of bike polo, carefully groomed horses are no longer a prerequisite for a quick chukka. There may be fewer fair-bonneted young ladies and suave jodhpured gents strutting their stuff, but this version is far simpler and requires less etiquette. Bring a bike (preferably a fixie) on Sundays and belt the hell out of a ball on a tennis court in Tower Hamlets. It's a fine opportunity to show off your wheels and pooh-pooh the game's elitist connotations.
