Howard Brenton's Weapons of Happiness was the first play to be performed at the Lyttleton in the politically turbulent '70s, causing a storm and winning the Evening Standard's Best Play award. The Finborough presents the production's first revival, with a cast of award-winning actors directed by up-and-comer Nathan Curry. In Weapons, Thatcher heads up the 1976 Conservative Party, and the unions are rising; factory workers take things into their own hands to try and save their jobs, fuelling the revolutionary fervour. But one man, Czech refugee Josef Frank, complicates things even further, as he reels from the memories of torture under the Stalinist regime.
