The third annual BBC Electric Proms ropes in more musical acts to even more north London venues for another burst of quality live music. Celebrated tunesmith Burt Bacharach opens the five-day festival, performing with the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Roundhouse. Other highlights include Chaka Khan, guitarless rockers Keane, the Last Shadow Puppets and a joint performance by Robin Gibb, Sam Sparro and Sharleen Spiteri to mark the 30th anniversary of Saturday Night Fever. One bit of bad news for London though: this year the excellent John Peel night relocates to the late radio-jock's hometown of Liverpool. We'll miss you, John.
