Synthpunksters Trans Am fly in from Maryland to treat the Big Smoke faithful to an energetic dose of political math-rock. The three-piece, signed to Chicago’s Thrill Jockey imprint, create a rich brew of electronic samples, obscene vocoder sonics and witty lyrics that veers from anarchic commentary to mocking self-parody in an instant. Local experimental label DiscError provide the support bands, namely four-piece Ulterior with their robotic drone electro and devilish industrial post-punksters Micron 63.
