The London Greek Film Festival is a new four-day celebration of the peninsula nation's nascent movie-making culture at the Hellenic Centre in Marylebone. Three documentaries get things underway: Voice of the Aegean (2004) is an natural exploration of the Aegean islands; The Cypriot Diaspora (2006) provides social commentary on Blighty's immigrants from Cyprus; and the UK premiere of Valerie Kontakos' Who's on First (2006) tells the tragic story of the embryonic Greek national baseball team. The rest of the programme explores every aspect of Greek life and includes UK premieres of animations, shorts and fiction features.
