Drums of Death is the stage name of rave producer Colin Bailey. His comic-strip backstory — cursed by a Haitian warlord for sleeping with his daughter — informs his onstage voodoo make-up and mongrel techno-grime beats. In September, DoD were snapped-up by Greco-Roman to release debut EP Step into the Ring and support Hot Chip on their US tour. Like a musical version of the late Heath Ledger's Joker, the Glaswegian bass-core villain knows how to make his synths stab like knives and his basslines awaken all of hell.
