In this new group show at Broadbent Gallery, works from contemporary abstract artists provide a more-than-credible milieu to ten recently uncovered pieces by the late Dutch painter Jules de Goede. The ten drawings and collages were among others discovered in the archives of Angus Broadbent, de Goede's former dealer and the gallery's proprietor. The characteristically black, white and grey geometrics of these previously unexhibited works remain as puzzlingly astonishing as they ever were. Highlights from the five artists featured in the upstairs gallery include Willard Boepple's wooden structures, the graphic canvas mappings of Pierre Imhof and Kate Palmer's paper series.
