Borders and Identities explores the consequences of the lines drawn in geo-political sands. Palestinian-born Sharif Waked's short film Chic Point hauntingly juxtaposes footage of scantily clad male models with images of Palestinians strip-searched at Israeli checkpoints. Uriel Orlow's Descent, on the other hand, takes an intimate look at one woman's move from Israel to Switzerland; only fragments of the dialogue remain, evoking a sense of the people and places left behind. This two-part exhibition — which includes work by six other international artists — suggests that borders are not merely physical barriers, but are also comprised of the experiences of those that they divide.
