London logophiles head east for this celebration of all things lingual, from blogging to books, poetry to plays and comedy to cabaret. The London Word Festival promises such delights as a night of hip-hop poetry from New Yorker Saul Williams and our very own Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip; a discussion on the East End, past and present, with Oona King and Monica Ali; and comedy courtesy of Josie Long. Modern phenomena such as eBooks and flogging also come under scrutiny, while a dedicated panel wonders whether the power of literature can impact climate change.
