Gothic explores the excesses of the imagination through the work of 12 contemporary artists. Matthew Stone, a rising star of London's squat scene, features larger-than-life photographs of lost souls wistfully draped in both fabric and one another. Tessa Farmer presents mesmerising displays of skeletal insects and animals frozen in motion. If that's a bit grizzly, Roz Mortimer's video installation Passages morphs fact and fiction through a journey to the ruins of Italy's Lake Como. Forget eyeliner and Camden by night — this exhibition, appropriately housed at the labyrinthine Fieldgate Gallery, is a more refined take on the elusive notion of an age-old term.
