Art Takahiro Iwasaki and Penny Klepuszewska: I Wouldn't Like to Live in the Open Air But Sometimes I Would

ROOM presents two up-and-coming artists who build their own quirky, imaginary worlds. UK-based Japanese artist Takahiro Iwasaki creates magical, Lilliputian landscapes out of people's detritus, moulding mountain ranges from erasers and crafting telephone pylons out of thread and pencil leads. Photographer Penny Klepuszewska documents everyday items in a style that magnifies their ordinariness, making them tremble with hidden meaning. I Wouldn't Like to Live in the Open Air But Sometimes I Would lingers between the otherworldly and the here-and-now, demonstrating that even the most commonplace objects are not what they seem.
