It isn't a Deutsch dating night — unless you have a prurient interest in Gunter Grass, JW Goethe or Thomas Mann. (This evening, in case you hadn't guessed, celebrates the best of German literature.) Radio 4's Rosie Goldsmith presides over four British writers — Mark "Shopping and Fucking" Ravenhill, much-parodied art critic Brian Sewell, travel journalist Rory MacLean and novelist and lecturer Patricia Duncker — who read translated excerpts from their favourite modern German works.
