Translating to "water of life" (thanks to the Anglicisation of the sixth-century Irish word uisce beatha), the humble whisky is to be celebrated — nay, revered — at the upcoming Whisky Live 2008. "Health benefits" aside, the amber tipple has long been a beloved beverage; the festival, now in its ninth year and making appearances throughout the world, is a testament to its continuing popularity. Activities include a masterclass in chocolate and cheese pairing, lively distillery debates and, of course, endless tasting sessions, which include the likes of Highland Park, Chivas Brothers and Milroys of Soho.
