Shock-and-awe cult director Larry Clark brings his quasi-fetishistic portraiture of decrepit urban youth to the grim streets of Mayfair. Los Angeles 2003 - 2006 follows the growth of Jonathan Velazquez, the teenage muse behind Clark's sixth feature film, Wassup Rockers (2005). Prints range from group shots of Velazquez with friends to superbly detailed close-ups that explore the transformations of angst-ridden adolescence. Clark's photography evokes the osscilation between fragility and bravado central to teenage life, in a collection that represents a more human side to his characteristically gritty-realist social commentary.
