In Revolution in Photography, the Hayward celebrates Russian photographer Alexander Rodchenko's trail-blazing versatility. Featuring more than 120 original prints and photomontages, the exhibition traces Rodchenko's development over two decades. Perceived during the 1920s as profoundly avant-garde, Rodchenko focused his lens on life in the Soviet Union, utilizing varying camera positions and perspectives intended to shock and provoke his audience, while pushing photography's potential for experimentation.
