Lovers of kilts, indie rock and the odd splash of hardcore rejoice as the Edinburgh musical get-up This Is Music brings its fine selection of scuzzy sonic discoveries to the capital. This month's offering is headlined by Sunderland indie-punk angst outfit This Ain't Vegas, who shovel dirty guitars, grizzled vocals and drawled harmonies into their melodic, ear-splitting noise machine. Southerly Brighton support act Tropics, on the other hand, savagely attack their set list with the bravado of a giant angry bear. With Kasms' weird, Kate Bush-esque goth punk opening the night, expect to leave with bleeding ears and tinnitus — coupled with a big smile.
