Music: Rock/Pop Electroacoustic Club feat. Revere w/ Yaneka, Blue Rose Code and Eliza Wren Payne

This Wednesday-night staple downstairs at the Slaughtered Lamb proffers a weekly selection of alt-folkies and laptop troubadours. Tonight's edition features genre benders Revere, who, with their dirge-like combination of slide guitars, haunting vocals, strings and brass, create a sound that straddles brooding post-rock and macabre gypsy laments. In tow are Japanese imports Yaneka, with Chiyako Maeda's minimal laptop fiddlery and spartan acoustic guitar providing background to semi-operatic Japanese-language vocals from his sister Yui. Blue Rose Code offer quaint arrangements of strings and reverb-laden keyboards over tragic, harmonised vocals to open the night.
