This evening, unearth vintage delights at rock 'n roll juke-joint the Boogaloo when Miss Red and Mr Dickon Edwards present the Beautiful & Damned. These two offer punters a cavalcade of burlesque dancers, '40s war tunes, live sets and DJs while, they promise, wearing the natty combination of top hats and braces. Originally conceived by Jazzman Entertainment as the bastard child of Filthy MacNasty's, the raucous boozer aims to recreate the atmosphere of the golden era when "Elvis was King". And while the surrounds of leafy Highgate may initially conjure up images of lattes and Land Rovers rather than a honky tonkin' melting pot, rest assured the journey north is well worth the trouble.
