Will Holland (aka Quantic) always brings a Latin note to his mixes of funk, jazz and breaks. Revolving around this Brighton-based producer/DJ are a plethora of musicians who help him to revive the fuzzed charms of deep funk for rug-cutting aficionados. Having recently recorded his latest album, Tropidelico — a heady mix of cumbia and Arabian jazz — in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, Holland pays much homage to the country's rich musical culture. His pounding beats and hip-hop influences meld seamlessly into multicoloured, dirty Latin funk that puts Madame Jojo's Legendary Deep Funk night to shame.
