Infamous Commercial Road party boozer the George Tavern may have hosted plenty of crazy gigs over the years, but it sure hasn't seen anything like Brainlove Club. A showcase for eccentric London indie label Brainlove Records and friends, this first instalment of their monthly residency welcomes strange, exciting sounds that defy easy definition. From Oxford, Hreda play post-rock built on dreamy guitars and crashing cymbals; Bristol-based one-man-band Team Brick brings a spellbinding experimental approach to any instrument he can find; and the insane, blood-smeared death-pop of Applicants is likely to bring the whole house down.
