Performing Arts: Theatre Word:Play

For tonight's theatrical buffet table, Word:Play brings together six new 15-minute works, each taking inspiration from one word ("tradition"). Highlights include The Miracle Killers, an exploration of love and loss by pub-theatre regular Kenneth Emson, and The Right to Choose by Helen Bennett (who was shortlisted for the Royal Court Young Writers Festival 2007), which looks at a mother's desire for the perfect baby. Daniel Kanaber's The Escape journeys from Greek theatre to Beckett, with a pit-stop at Shakespeare along the way.
