Part of the Children in Conflict collection, John Keane's Angola exhibition documents the fraught state of a post-conflict society six years into peacetime. Keane was an official war artist during the first Gulf War, and conflict is a central theme in his work. Blending traditional painting with ink-jet transfers and African-influenced fabrics, the artist highlights Angola's brutal reality while emphasizing the society's dogged optimism.
