Celebrate the great women of film at the Bird's Eye View opening-night gala. An introduction from the illustrious Maureen Lipman kicks things off, and a diverse selection of screenings follow, including Bolivian wrestling documentary The Fighting Cholitas, animation in the form of Lovesick and a snappy global-warming piece, Don't Let It All Unravel. The icing on the cake, however, is a sampling of early silent comedies with piano accompaniment by indie songbird Imogen Heap. The days maintain the momentum with premieres, Q&A sessions and the participant-friendly Overheated Symphony.
