Film Flying: Confessions of a Free Woman (2006)

Described as "part soap opera, part Sex in the City", Jennifer Fox's documentary charts her impressive journey around the globe to investigate contemporary female life. Fox's technique of passing the camera over to her subjects engenders intimate conversations that reveal both unique and shared experiences faced by women in the 21st century. The footage, halved into two-hour chapters and screened over two days as part of the Birds Eye View film festival, celebrates womanhood without shying away from frank revelations about its attendant desires and disappointments.
