Jerwood Directors Award winner Amy Hodge helms this production of Winsome Pinnock's 1996 play, which follows a group of young women who use their bodies to smuggle drugs from Jamaica into Europe. Bridie, who worked her way up to become a sleek, professional runner, recruits these mules from around the world; but she's also just a puppet herself, manipulated by those further up the hierarchy. Pinnock captures the intricacies of her international characters, examining the exploitative nature of the trade without drowning in piety.
