Out of Joint presents David Edgar's sharp, politically brave play, Testing the Echo. The story unfolds at an English-language school, where teacher Emma is challenged by a disparate bunch of rising students, all struggling to settle in and become British. Teresa Banham delivers an uncompromising performance as the teacher forced to question her beliefs, while the other actors impressively play two roles each. Fueled by Edgar's sophisticated script and Matthew Dunster's crisp direction, Testing the Echo is a compelling snapshot of modern-day Britain.
