Art Blood on Paper: The Art of the Book

This new exhibition at the V&A offers visual art reworkings and interpretations of the humble paperback. The works on display range from large-scale installations to sculptures from artists — both past and present — such as Anthony Caro, Damien Hirst and Sol Lewitt, all of whom explore and ultimately celebrate the notion of the novel. Responding to the increasing threat that the written word will be lost to future generations, the curators investigate the varying treatment — as well as the timeless and versatile capacity — of the book through the eyes of a different artistic discipline.
