Art Lee Ufan

Korean painter, sculptor and philosopher Lee Ufan first came into prominence in the late '60s as one of the key players of the avant-garde Mono-ha school, a group of artists who use found and natural materials. Lee's work is much celebrated throughout Asia and Europe, but is only now building recognition in the UK. His single-brushstroke paintings create meditative pauses free of narrative complexities and hang alongside carefully placed rocks and iron slabs. These subtle objects and arrangements evoke the meaningful promise of a contemplative moment.
