Forget cheesily brandishing your lightsaber at yet another Lucasfilm screening and head instead to SCI-FI-LONDON 7, the indie underground of sci-fi and fantasy film. Proceedings kick off on a poignant note, with the first posthumous ceremony of the Arthur C. Clarke novel-writing awards, followed by the UK premiere of Delicatessen director Marc Caro's Dante 01 — a French-language, Inferno-inspired psychological thriller set aboard a deep-space prison. Other highlights include Star Wars street art from the Artful Dodger at Forbidden Planet, a sci-fi pub quiz and the world premiere of Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson's devil flick Chemical Wedding, starring Simon Callow as a reincarnation of Edwardian occultist Aleister Crowley.
