Photographer Steve McCurry — whose 1984 shot of a young Afghan girl with piercing green eyes has been etched into the minds of countless viewers — presents Asia at the Magnum Print Room. The exhibition comprises a collection of portrait and landscape pieces, most of which can also be seen in McCurry's recently released In the Shadow of the Mountains — a book of photographs from Afghanistan that further fortifies his longtime affinity for the ravaged country. With a style of photojournalism that takes in the "drama of the undramatic" along with the beauty of the human condition, McCurry's new efforts share the same power as his older, iconic images.
