Drawing from the eclectic case histories presented in his A Portrait of the Brain (ranging from epilepsy and memory loss to narcolepsy), author and educator Adam Zeman paints a colourful portrait of the work of neuroscientists on an unrelenting quest to unlock the mysteries of the noggin. Never one to skimp on details, Zeman takes a close-range peep at all of the brain's known structures, as well as the few unchartered territories that remain.
