Art The Damask Rose Trust present Colours of the Sun

Colours of the Sun is a collection of embroidered panels depicting the impoverished Syrian town of Jabal Al Hoss, as seen through the eyes of its women. The pieces have a strange, flattened perspective that at first seems overly simplistic, even childlike. But upon further investigation, the works' installation-esque hanging begins to reflect the topography of the artists' ravaged town. All of the panels are for sale, and exhibition organizers the Damask Rose Trust are using the proceeds to aid development projects in Syria.
