Art Dan McDermott: Second Focus

So realistic are Dan McDermott's oil canvases, that if you squint at any of his paintings, you could easily be looking at a photograph or film still. A plethora of sources, including vintage newsreel footage and websites, influence McDermott's vivid work, with his pictures focussing on the oft-overlooked minutiae of life — a car driving down a street, a telling facial expression or a businessman on his way to the office.
