Spencer Krug, Canadian indie extraordinaire, brings Sunset Rubdown to London for the first time — an impressive feat, given that he already keeps busy in Wolf Parade, Swan Lake and Frog Eyes. Krug originally conceived of Sunset Rubdown as a solo outlet for some of his weirder, more introspective art pop. Two albums later, after some hard touring and augmented by three additional band members, the project has metamorphosed from side project to full-time band. Buoyed by Krug's trademark, cathartic howl, Sunset Rubdown are an unhinged, ramshackle affair, with songs rivaling anything in the rest of the Krug's back catalog.
