Art Flux-Olympiad

Artist Larry Miller's Flux-Olympiad forms part of the Tate's Long Weekend, a performance and lecture series designed to animate the gallery's static collections. Originally conceived in the '60s by Fluxus founding artist George Maciunas — but never actually realised before now — the Olympiad features artists performing interactive pieces, bringing art into everyday life with Zen-like philosophy and humour. Sporting events on offer include soccer on stilts, slow-speed bicycle races and the balloon shot-put; all are open to those well-versed in Fluxus athletics and casual Southbank visitors alike.
