Note: Bordowitz also gives a talk on his work on Thur 29 May (7pm).
In celebration of the opening of LUX's new temporary exhibition space, LUX 28, artist and activist Gregg Bordowitz makes a rare London appearance. His work explores the cultural impact of AIDS and HIV and spans the moving-image spectrum, from documentaries and educational films to TV shows and video performances. Bordowitz, a central member of pioneering AIDS activist group ACT UP, reflects on mortality and sexuality in video screenings including Fast Trip Long Drop, a montage of enacted and documentary footage, and A Cloud in Trousers, a monologue based on the poem by Vladimir Mayakovsky.
