Art Double Perspective: Contemporary Art from Venezuela

The Maddox Gallery presents the work of seven Venezuelans whose abstract works and landscapes present two opposing stances on the last century's obsession with modernism. The titular "double perspective" — reflecting both a rejection of that movement and an urge to feed off of it and build upon it — is a principal concern of Venezuela's leading artists. Among the many highlights, Magdalena Fernández introduces video movement to simple shapes, Luis Molina-Pantin plays with photographic realism, and Angel Marcano creates haunting sculpture out of tiny lines.
