This Saturday afternoon, the British Museum presents a vibrant and most worthy celebration of Africa and its peoples. Join in to explore the rich diversity of African cultures; storytelling and music demonstrate Africa's rich oral traditions and multitude of unique languages, while contemporary visual art charts the continent's more recent journeys through political struggle and hardship. Also highlighted within the festival is the history and influence of the African diaspora, which has transformed global culture from its beginnings in the 16th-century slave trade to the fruitful exchanges springing from present-day immigration.
