Stranger than Paradise's maverick monthly moves to the Amersham Arms for a bank-holiday special, with the Spanner Jazz Punks headlining an exceedingly eclectic lineup. Comprising 12 members playing (among many other things) Moog, violin, baritone sax and brass, the Punks take an ensemble approach to psychedelic folk-jazz that's not unlike listening to ten songs at once. Also appearing are bleak Kiwi troubadour Delaney Davidson, the fire-eating and belly-dancing Lady Ane Angel and Nensimillia and resident DJs with record boxes full of Balkan, Bollywood and klezmer music, along with field recordings that defy categorization.
