This year's BURST sees the Battersea Arts Centre host its largest-ever, month-long programme of experimental theatre performances. More than 30 shows offer a mix of the familiar and the bizarre, nearly all at cut-rate entry (full-price tickets are generally £10 or less). The opening weekend hosts It's Playtime Captain, a chaotic, building-wide party of music, theatre and games for grown-ups. Then peek into the creative process with the Scratch series, which shows works in progress. This year, Scratch expands into the beautiful Grand Hall with 15 unfinished shows in total; the audience can give feedback during performances or afterward at the bar.
