Monthly film screening Jungle CineClub is concocted by the JungleDrums collective, ardent promoters of all things good in Brazilian culture. Tonight, Shoreditch's Rich Mix screens hard-hitting documentary Bus 174, directed by José Padilha, who recently won the Berlinale's Golden Bear award. The film follows the fateful hijacking of a bus in Rio de Janeiro by poverty-stricken youngster Sandro do Nascimento. Drawing on interviews with street kids and police, as well as TV footage, in an attempt to piece together events, it offers an honest, if bleak, perspective on Brazilian society.
