More Flavor: City Gem Plant Room

Architect duo Ulrike Steven and Gareth Morris (What If) have teamed up with urban-regeneration agency the Shoreditch Trust to transform a neglected corner of N1's East Road into a blooming wall of greenery. Over the summer months, 50 local residents have flexed their green thumbs to produce a living display of flowers and herbs in 200 terracotta pots placed on a giant set of shelves. Committed to making the most of empty spaces, What If has worked its magic on many an abandoned spot in London, Liverpool and Slough.
