Jean-Paul Salomé's romp stars a bevy of Gallic femmes in a daring mission to save a wounded British agent from the clutches of pursuing Nazis. Less Nouvelle Vague, existentialist musing than it is a stylised snapshot of France's unsung WWII heroines, Salomé's quiver of smouldering Frenchies includes Julie Depardieu as a hard-as-nails prostitute and Sophie Marceau as an incarnation of activist Lise Villameur. Salomé and star Déborah François — who gets handy with some explosives in the film — converse after the screening to further fete these brave ladies of la Résistance.
