Art Colin Self

One of British pop art's lesser-known figures, Colin Self is described by fellow artist Peter Blake as a "forgotten hero". Delaye Saltoun's exhibition — Self's first London-based solo show since 1965 — takes a step toward rectifying this oversight. Having expected the world to end, when the Cuban Missile Crisis peaked in 1962 and peace was declared, Self channelled his relief into a series of "post-atomic work" — images of missile bases and Hiroshima victims illustrate his preoccupation with nuclear war. Offering a rare look at the artist's experimental prints, drawings and sculptures, the show reflects the best of pop art's critical abilities.
