Covent Garden Market Piazza says…

World-renowned design firm Eley Kishimoto teams up with 6a Architects to erect the weird and wonderful Hairywood Tower in the heart of Covent Garden. The structure is built to tie in with Somerset House's Skin+Bones exhibition, which explores the fusion of fashion and architecture, and provides a look at the original Hairywood model. The 25-foot-tall tower — designed in the shape of a periscope — offers views of a tourist-packed plaza with an exterior that takes cues from Rapunzel's flowing locks. The building itself is inspired by the Jacques Tati film Monsieur Hulot's Holiday (1953), in which the title character's tranquil hotel room floats above a chaotic public beach.
