More Flavor: Discussion Harris's List of Covent Garden Ladies

Historian/sexpert Hallie Rubenhold discusses the 18th-century guide to London prostitutes, which was a best seller before best sellers really existed. Guiltily consumed at home by the middle classes like a prototype HELLO!, Harris's List detailed the names, addresses and specialties of women practicing the world's oldest profession. The talk is held at the Foundling Museum, which commemorates the former Bloomsbury hospital that once housed children abandoned on the streets of the capital — perhaps as a consequence of the sex trade. In any case, if it all gets a bit too titillating, you can always relax with a drink in one of London's best rococo interiors.
