Style icon Wallis Simpson once said, "When the little black dress is right, there is nothing else to wear in its place". First championed by Coco Chanel and now a staple of many women's wardrobes, the LBD is celebrated in this quirky exhibition, curated by designer Andrew Fionda. Celebrities Joan Collins and Joanna Lumley join fashionable figures Giles Deacon and John Galliano in donating their own frocks, as the museum seeks out locally worn LBDs to accompany them. Two workshops — a makeup tutorial with MAC's Terry Barber and a "Little Black Hat" millinery session with Mary Jane Baxter — complement the show.
