Art Franko B: Don't Leave Me This Way

For Italian-born artist Franko B, the body makes a suitable artistic implement. One previous work had him shedding blood while strolling down a catwalk at the Tate Modern; in another, he gave audience members a close-up view of an open wound. During his latest performance, Don't Leave Me This Way, he sits naked and statue-still in a chair, revealing the scars of his oeuvre and illuminated by intense lighting from collaborator Kamal Ackarie. Viewers can experience the piece in individual three-minute sessions, enabling them to examine the artist's sizable form from every conceivable angle.
