Chelsea's elegant Andipa Gallery somewhat incongruously hosts ten international "urban artists". The collages, prints, sculptures and installation pieces on display go beyond street art, by playing with the contemporary notion of urbanity. British sculptor Laura Keeble juxtaposes traditional crafts with symbols of globalisation in her stained-glass McDonald's cartons, while Charles Krafft's Delftware-style porcelain Uzi is a meditation on violence and fragility. Andipa has commissioned new work, including photographs by Slinkachu, but the most striking image is last year’s Zahra, a silkscreen by the New Yorker Swoon; the floor-to-ceiling portrait evokes Iberian drama with tattoo-style blocks of colour and sweeping lines. Also on display are the more familiar comic-strip-inspired work of WK Interact and stencils by D*Face.
